The LP Strategic Plan
The Laundromat Project (The LP) is excited to share its 2024 Strategic Plan with our community. As The LP advances into its next decade and beyond, our board, staff, artists, neighbors, and community partners have worked together over the past year to consider the impact we’ve had on our growing community and the impact we hope to have in the future.
Our Strategic Plan will serve as a guide for our future activities, helping to ensure that we stay centered on what matters to us the most: catalyzing creativity as a source for positive social change. We firmly believe that the work of our artists, whether those who are self-identified or who discover their artistry through interacting with us, together with our neighbors in Bed-Stuy and across New York City, is essential to creating more equitable, sustainable communities and opportunities for wellbeing in communities of color. This document grounds us and our programming in that work.
After several conversations with internal and external stakeholders, we’ve also refreshed some of the language we use to speak about our work and our values. Who we are as a team and what we do as an organization has not changed, but we believe how we talk about our work, our impact, and the vision for the world to which we want our efforts to lead must be reflected in our words. We also want to ensure that our resources are utilized in the most meaningful and effective ways.
We are an evolving organization, and our plans continue to evolve along with us and with the needs of our communities. As a valued member of The LP community, we encourage you to read what we’ve created and share your thoughts with us. We look forward to continuing this journey of making art, building community, and creating change together.
