2022 People-Powered Challenge

LP community call for participation and celebration!

Over the past two years we’ve been working to build out our first long-term home in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn—listening to neighbors, developing partnerships, designing a welcoming space, and planning community programs. Next year will be a year of transformation with the elevated leadership of our current deputy and soon-to-be executive director, Ayesha Willams. It will also be our first full year of community programs rooted in Bed-Stuy, which will allow us to better support artists and neighbors working to address critical issues such as racial justice, environmental justice, and LGBTQIA+ safe spaces.

Harnessing this seminal moment, we will host our 2022 People-Powered Challenge—a 10-day (Oct 17-26) peer-to-peer campaign to raise $50k to support our first full year of programming in our new home.

How Can I Participate?

As a key member of The LP community, you can participate by becoming a People Mover or Amplifier during this critical moment in The LP’s history! Once you sign up, we will reach out closer to the campaign (October 17-26) to give you all the tools needed to kick off the campaign.

PEOPLE MOVERS
Help us reach our collective goal by committing to asking 15 people or more (friends, family, neighbors, peers, etc.) to give at least $15 or more each during the 10 days of the campaign. Click the link below to become a fundraiser and get started.

AMPLIFIERS

About the campaign:  The People-Powered Challenge is The LP’s annual 10-day peer-to-peer campaign where we fundraise through the collective power of our friends, family, neighbors, and social networks to support artists and neighbors who are committed to societal change. This campaign strengthens our communities by getting supporters, new and old, to invest in our work with us.
