Shana Wolfe

Shana Wolfe is the Director of Finance & Operations at The Laundromat Project, where she stewards the organization’s infrastructure with a deep commitment to equity and community power. A classically trained oil painter and multimedia artist, Shana brings more than a decade of experience in nonprofit administration at organizations grounded in values-driven missions. After studying Painting at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, she earned her B.S. in Art History and Museum Professions from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Shana went on to manage Finance & Operations at Brooklyn Arts Council, where she provided funding and support to artists across the borough, ensuring that local artists had the resources to thrive. Just before the pandemic, Shana launched Pocket, a community art space in Crown Heights (housed in a former laundromat), offering classes and gathering space for neighbors. Her community work extends beyond the arts: she is an active organizer in Central Brooklyn through childcare collectives and mutual aid distribution networks. Across all of these contexts, Shana brings organizing principles, a restorative justice lens, and a vision of radicalizing internal nonprofit administrative practices to better serve the pursuit of a more just future.
