This workshop will focus on writing that situates the writer in their time, the present, and encourages them to think critically about issues, using prompts to manifest these thoughts in a creative manner. This workshop will focus on writing that situates the writer in their time, the present, and encourages them to think critically about issues, using prompts to manifest these thoughts in a creative manner. The objective is to produce a journal of writing (published online) that reflects the time we shared together as writers. Workshop limited to ten attendees and meets weekly for four weeks for one and a half hours.
Bio:
Desiree Rucker is a multidisciplinary artist. Her poetry and short stories have been published in print and online. She is a filmmaker and videographer who has produced thousands of hours of content that has been broadcast, streamed and featured in festivals. She also participates in community collectives and grass roots initiatives that encourage youth to embrace their creative inclinations and recognize the truth in their art, and to understand that it is a gift given to be shared.
