First Fridays: September | A Legacy of Seeds

Facilitated by Wema Ragophala

Join us for our first Fall Liberation Series event of 2024!

Held on the First Friday of each month, The Liberation Series will be hosted in partnership with Wema Ragophala, an LP artist, who will facilitate a community social and deep conversations between community-engaged artist, Jennifer Cendaña Armas and South-African born musician Lesedi Ntsane as they discuss contemporary social issues experienced by our immediate community. Germinate ideas with us, as we use creative writing and movement techniques to think about where we are and how we are laying the groundwork for new possibilities. Enjoy conversation, connection, and live performances by Lesedi Ntsane and DJ Mpande Rootx!

Food and refreshments will be provided by Therapy Wine Bar!

“We are the seeds of our ancestors’ wildest dreams! Join us for this series of programming to cultivate conversations, engage in intersectional arts making praxis, and think about our place in community as a seed.  Where we are in our growth? Whether our roots are deeply embedded in the history and culture of BedStuy, or if we are newly germinated seedlings looking to grow and connect within community, we are creating pathways for radical movements in afro-futurism.” – Wema Ragophala
