How do we seed the future? Through People-Powered.
Movement building is never the work of one person alone—it is the collective heartbeat of neighbors, artists, friends, and families who believe that art and culture are powerful tools for shaping a more just and joyful world.
This is why we lean into peer-to-peer fundraising as more than just a way to raise dollars. It is a practice of community self-determination. Each time someone in our ecosystem asks a friend, a neighbor, or a colleague to contribute, they are modeling a radical truth: we already have the resources among us to seed the future we want. Every gift—large or small—is a vote of confidence in our vision, and an affirmation that we can sustain ourselves through mutual care and shared abundance.
Our Create Change program embodies these truths beautifully. Each year, artists in the program are trained as cultural organizers, learning to listen deeply, partner with communities, and co-create projects that catalyze imagination into action. These artists remind us that we are all architects of possibility. They show us how to transform laundromats into gathering places, sidewalks into storytelling circles, and ordinary storefronts into extraordinary sites of connection and power. And later this fall, we will launch our 2026 Create Change Open Call, ushering in our 20th cohort.
We need your help!
This moment—our 20th anniversary—is an open call to action. As part of People-Powered, our longstanding peer-to-peer fundraising campaign, we invite you to step forward as People Movers. People Movers are volunteers who activate their networks, raise resources, and move others to believe in the power of art and community. By becoming a People Mover, you join our Fellows and AiRs in embodying what it means to be an architect of a liberated future. And, you help us raise critical funds to support our annual operating expenses.
For all gifts of $20 or more, contributors will be invited to GATHER: Bending Time, Building Futures, happening on November 19.
