Project: Mosaic: An Altar Call for Collective Liberation
In June 2023, the SCOTUS ruled in favor of a bakery’s right to deny service to Queer Folks, citing religious freedom under the First Amendment. This decision is part of a conservative trend seen as eroding human rights. In response, “Mosaic: An Altar Call for Collective Liberation” was created to provoke reflection and foster community unity through a festival, album, and performance series curated by Solange Knowles. The project, rooted in 80s Pop Rock, highlights local artists addressing social issues and aims to amplify marginalized voices. Its headline performance combines storytelling, community testimonials, and theater to ignite positive societal change.
