Project: “Spreadin’ Jam Joy & Jive – A Sweet R&B Journey on the Soul of My 45’s”
“Spreadin’ Jam, Joy & Jive: A Sweet R&B Journey on the Souls of My 45’s,” is a series of art exhibitions, poetry readings, author talks, and performances that celebrate Soul Music played on 45 records during the 1960’s and 1970’s. Artist and Author, Nikki Williams, the series Producer, is leading a nationwide creative campaign using poetry, prose, performance, and her artwork, to bring attention to the connection that exists between people. Through personal stories and narratives viewed through a literary lens, the love for the music played during an important era of Soul and R&B will be explored and shared.
Bio:
Nikki Williams is multi-disciplinary, award-winning artist with a professional career spanning over three decades. The author of several coffee table books, Williams’ touring exhibit, “Spreadin’ Jam Joy & Jive – A Sweet R&B Ride on the Soul of My 45’s,” a celebration of Soul Music played on 45 records in the 1960’s and 1970’s, will have its first showing at the National Jazz Museum in Harlem in June 2024.
