Project: When We Reminisce Over You, BedStuy
“When We Reminisce Over You, BedStuy” is an exhibition displaying artwork of Bedford Stuyvesant natives and long-time residents reflecting the memory of growing up in BedStuy and how the neighborhood feels to them now that so much has changed through the years. With the name, inspired by the 1992 Hip-hop classic song “When We Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y)” by NYC natives Pete Rock and CL Smooth, the project aims to uplift and direct spotlight towards the voices of Brooklyn that become more and more buried by gentrification, displacement and oppression.
