Meet Wabu, Graphic Design Intern

Meet Wabu, our Graphic Design Intern

Meet our new intern, Wabu Blacknall!

So, what made you decide to intern with The LP?

Well, I’ve been trying to get more work experience doing graphic design and I heard that The LP was willing to accept an intern and they would require the intern to do Graphic Design so it seemed like a perfect fit.

Do you have your own creative practice? If so, tell us more!

The only creative practice I have is Graphic Design, whenever I have free time and access to the programs, I work on some Graphic Designs, drawings, t-shirt designs etc.

Can you tell us about an artist or project that has inspired you?

An artist that has inspired me would probably be Andy Warhol simply because of his innovative pop art style, his brilliant use of color and also the point he tried to convey.

What is your favorite… film?

Favorite Film would have to be any one of the Harry Potter movies or Dope.

Favorite Album is a tough one. Either Watching Movies with the Sound Off by Mac MIller, or Mmm…Food by MF DOOM.

My favorite food is Baked Mac n’ Cheese without a doubt.

Where do you do your laundry?

I do my laundry at a laundromat in New Rochelle.

In your opinion, why does art matter?

In my opinion, art matters because it allows people to have that feeling of freedom knowing that they can express theirselves or their desires or even just convey any message through a whole bunch of mediums.

Wabu is a High School senior attending Bronx High School for the Visual Arts. He enjoys being active, playing almost every sport, and doing Graphic Design. He would love to learn much more about Graphic Design, become a better artist and in the near future begin to teach it.
