March Liberation Series: Communal Drum and Voice Circle

Facilitated by Mz. Icar

First Fridays, or Liberation Series, is a monthly, artist-led, community-building gathering hosted in our Bed-Stuy storefront. Each season is guided by an artist working at the intersection of culture, imagination, and collective power.

Call to the Ancestors: Communal Drum Circle is an intergenerational drumming circle that invites participants of all ages to explore memory, place, and dreams through guided prompts, drum rhythms, and call-and-response. Together, we’ll weave individual stories into a collective sonic ritual. Co-facilitated by Drummers Shaun Kelly and Brion Vann, the goal is togetherness, using rhythm to pull us into a shared, timeless frequency.

This is your sign to gather with The LP, reflect with others, and co-create rhythms that will stretch your imagination beyond the limits of time and space!

Free food and refreshments will be provided.
