What is Create Change?
The Create Change Fellowship program is for artists and cultural producers who are interested in developing and deepening a collaborative, community-based, and socially-engaged creative practice. The Fellowship is philosophically grounded in peer-learning around art making, power analysis, and community building.
“For someone who wants to work WITH commmunities and co-create art, specifically in New York City, this Create Change session provided essential concepts, conversations, and tools to take forward into our work.”
— 2022 Create Change Fellow
The Laundromat Project advances artists and neighbors as change agents in their own communities.
Since our beginning, The LP has centered the voices, cultures, imaginations, knowledge, and leadership of people of color (POC). We do this to push against complex systemic injustices in pursuit of a world in which all people—across race, ethnicity, class, age, gender, sexuality, religion, nationality, disability status, and migration status—are free to be their whole selves.
