The Laundromat Project’s Community and Parent Circle (CPC) invites those with a vested interest in youth development for children ages 4-7 years old living within Harlem to develop art programming that resonates with the community’s desires and needs.

Working together as a cohort, our Harlem CPC members came together at the beginning of 2014 to meet and begin planning free art programming with The Laundromat Project (LP) staff and arts educators.

The Harlem CPC plays an integral role in creating themes for the workshops offered, and helps identify and develop additional workshop opportunities for youth. The purpose of the group is two fold:

  • invite neighborhood stakeholders to help shape the arts programming that we offer in laundromats and community spaces throughout the neighborhood.
  • build community among Harlem residents.
