Nehemoyia Young

BIO

Nehemoyia Young is a Brooklyn based dancer, choreographer, and performing artivist. She believes dancing is the transformational healing of our personal and collective traumas, and aspires to offer this gift through community art. Nehemoyia received her BA in Psychology from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA, where she began dancing professionally for T. Lang Dance Company, one incubator for the diverse narratives of Black women. Currently project based, she has had the opportunity to perform with Liberation Dance Theatre, Love Making Dances, Tendayi Kuumba, DecaDance Theatre, Tremor Collective, and Denae Dance Theatre. Nehemoyia has collaborated with violinist duo Chargaux, Climbing Poetree, and various actors in NYC. She is an employee at New York Live Arts and currently serves on the Dance/NYC Diversity committee.
