Greening the City is a festival promoting arts and creativity as a means for bringing about about environmental awareness, community beautification, and wellness. Click here to see the photos from Greening the City 2016!
Free and open to general public, Greening the City addresses environmentalism with a down-to-earth approach, providing New Yorkers of all ages with the opportunity to learn everyday ways to make eco-friendly choices that are fun and affordable.
It all happens as part of the 13th annual Fish Parade and Summer Festival at Barretto Point Park.

What would you like to see in Hunts Point and on it’s waterfront? Learn all about foam printing and make a collaborative community map alongside your neighbors.

Pelliza: Upcycle and Tradition with Gina Goico
Pellizas are traditional handwoven rag rugs from the Dominican Republic. Learn the traditional way to create them repurposing old clothes and fabric into a new rug, seat cover or tapestry.

Healthy Cooking Demo with community chef Dawn Ortíz
Learn about the power of eating healthy and honoring cultural foods!
